Most of us should know what they are.
We READ signs everyday.Signs tell us where to go,what to do....and they also tell us....what to LOOK for!
Signs come in all shapes,sizes and FORMS...and one thing is for sure...
The Pokemon Company LOVES to leave "signs" laying around in their video games.
Signs for WHAT,though ((you might ask))?
These signs use bits of information and material (from past entries in the franchise) to point an ARROW towards what is to come in future Pokemon video game releases.
((They tell the future of the franchise))
Sometimes,the signs are so SIMPLE that they become hidden in PLAIN sight.We either shrug them off (by telling ourselves that it is all a coincidence and will never happen) or don't notice them (as "signs") at all/become "OBLIVIOUS".
Other times,the signs are so disconnected from the games of future reference,that figuring out what is being referenced before official release becomes impossible.
I'm gonna mention SOME of these signs that the series has left behind (within most games) in the series so far,and the the games that they were referencing.
I've typed enough already,of course...let's start with those "SIGNS"!!
[Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Platinum] - 08/28/2006 - 7/02/2009
{Amity Square}
Within these games,there is an area (called Amity Square) that lets you walk with your Pokemon.Pokemon Platinum permits a larger variety of Pokemon (for strolls in the park) than the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl versions.
This one must be an exciting shock for those of you who've played any of these games and didn't know that the games even sported this feature.
*(((Game/games referenced - Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver)))
How this sign fits - Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver let you walk with ALL Pokemon existent in Gen 1-4/ Pokedex #001 - 493
Amity Square is a beta test for the Pokemon walking feature in the Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver.
((Extent of game reference conceal - High))

2. [Pokemon Black 2/White2] - 6/23/2012 - 11/08/2012
{Humilau City}Houses here are built on infrastructure identical to what was used in the Hoenn region's Pacifidlog town.

{Reversal Mountain}
Between the reversal mountain of pokemon black 2 and white 2,the inner environments of each cave represent the 2 legendary mascots of Hoenn.
Pokemon Black 2 ((Kyogre reference))
Most of the inside of this version's reversal mountain is filled with water.
Pokemon White 2 ((Groudon reference))
Most of the inside of this version's reversal mountain is filled with lava.
This makes you wonder about if Kyogre and Groudon were ever meant to have events in this cave,right?
That would've been awesome!!
{Diving}
After being absent from the franchise for so much years/since the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire releases,the feature returns in Pokemon Black2/White 2.
This feature appearing again alongside all the other Hoenn references is definitely no coincidence.
{Abyssal Ruins}
This underwater artifact makes a direct reference to Hoenn's Sealed Chamber,with underwater traverse and the existence of cryptic messages.
*(((Game/Games referenced - Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire)))
How these signs fit - Other than certain places being visual Hoenn references,it can be said that A LOT of Hoenn's style has been breathed into Pokemon Black 2/White 2.
((Extent of game reference conceal - Low))

[Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire] - 11/21/2014
*Eon Flute
This item allows for the trainer to take to flight on the back of either Latios or Latias.
(((Game/Games referenced - Pokemon Ranger - Guardian Signs)))
How this sign fits:
Since flight on the back of either Latios or Latias was first done in Pokemon Ranger - Guardian Signs and (especially) was never done since,the return of this feature is a definite reference to that game.
(((Extent of game reference conceal - Medium)))

[CONCLUSION]:
A lot of signs (for reference) have been thrown along the fields of the Pokemon franchise and everyone of them has eventually been answered with a solid relation of some kind (through video game releases).
New games to be released and legends to be revised.
All of these composed relations can be used in unison for this one conclusion.
Just about any hint of a past Pokemon game is an almost definite candidate for a future game reference.
CHECK FOR THE SIGNS!!!
No matter how silly or unlikely it might seem.
If a hint for a link of some kind is there,then it most likely IS linked!
These strong and game proven references have been going on TOO long now,for signs to be shunned.
What's more...the signs in my final hypothesis are even a little TOO definite to be shunned.
A single town referenced...and that could simply be a salute to that region...(the past game/games that shared spotlight there)...but an ENTIRE island??!!!
Nope!!
This just HAS to mean what I'm SAYING it does!!!
The Alola region IS Oblivia....
The region that Pokemon Ranger Guardian signs took place in,is the VERY SAME region that Pokemon Sun/Moon will take place in.
In the thumbnail image that I'm using for this post,I have a little map on the top right.
That map is for a little Island in the Oblivia region,called Dolce Island....and (get this)....that Island is IDENTICAL to the Island shown off as Pokemon Sun and Moon's starting point in it's first promo trailer...
There is the little stage (from Cocona Village) and everything.
That looks to be Teakwood Forest in the west of Cocona village (behind the starter Pokemon in the bottom right picture).
TOO much similarity here...
It's 100% definite.
Alola = Oblivia.
This isn't just simply a bunch of region references or a hint at a remake,but instead,a literal region revisit.
I expect those of you who have already played through Pokemon Ranger - Guardian signs to be excited about this information.
Oblivia is a REALLY nice region.
Since there are so many Islands in the Oblivia region with vast stretches of land,it's safe to say that Pokemon Sun/Moon will be the biggest and most nature preserved Pokemon adventure on the Nintendo 3DS,so far...
Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire were nice,but I've simply just never took much of a liking to the Hoenn region
The Nintendo Gameboy Advance was extremely limited at the time of Ruby and Sapphire's launch and thus,the region's detail was highly influenced by those limits...
OBLIVIA on the other hand is swarming with land mass and detail.
Traversing the jungles of the Oblivia region in a new main stream Pokemon release would definitely be exciting.
I have a lot more to say about Pokemon Sun/Moon,but I'll leave those for another time.
Feel free to leave what you think about all of this in the comments section below.
You don't have to think twice about it.
I'd be glad to have your honest feedback.
Until next time!
